Coloristic Properties of Hostatint Violet A-RL 100
Testing of the coloristic properties is carried out in accordance with the test method No. TM
40/1 “Shade and Colour Strength in white redution and/or full shade of Hostatint A 100
preparations”. The test method is available on request.
The assessment of relative tinting strength, hue and chroma is carried out colorimetrically. With
the colorimetric assessment, first the relative tinting strength is determined by means of adjusting
the colour depth respectively weighted K/S-sum. The residual hue difference is then divided – in
accordance with the CIELAB-formula (DIN 6174) – into the lightness-contribution dL, huecontribution dH and chroma-contribution dC. For the hue assessment, we are using dH and for the
chroma dC, after tinting strength adjustment. The total colour difference and volumetric tinting
strength are also quoted.
Note on 3 – Viscosity
The viscosity is measured by means of rotational viscometer according to test method 43/5.
Note on 4 – Specific Gravity
The specific gravity is determined using a specific gravity cup according to test method 43/2.
Note on 5 – Fineness of Grind
The fineness of grind is measured on a Hegman (fineness of grind) gauge according to test method

Hostatint A 100 RAL shades
Hostatint A 100 pastes are solvent- containing pigment preparations based on a carrier resin (aldehyde resin) that was developed specially for industrial paint applications.
Only durable organic and inorganic pigments were selected for high quality paint applications. The pastes are produced within narrow tolerances of shade and color strength allowing highly consistant paint production path with manual and automatic dispensers. The solvents and additives are carefully selected, therefore a hazardous labelling or special storage requirements associated with their flammability is not necessary. Hostatint A 100 shows good compatibility and can thus be added in the usual amount to virtually all types of solvent-based industrial paint systems. The formulations are based on RAL 841-GL (high gloss) color register and shades were adjusted as close as possible (delta E at D65 standard light < 1.0). Hostatint A 100 colorants were blended into an alkyd melamine baking system at complete opacity, note that these colorants can be loaded up to 25-30 % without any negative effect on gloss and flow. Loading need to be optimized for each system as it may differ depending on the resin type. Generally for every formulation, the optimum loading is important to achieve the best opacity and cost parameters. Depending on the specific application conditions, resin and additives the amount of individual colorants can vary. Generally all present formulations can be transferred to any other solvent based binder system (e. g. acrylate, long-oil-alkyd, epoxy, polyester, polyurethane) as long as compatibility is given. Teintes Hostatint A 100 RAL
Les pâtes Hostatint A 100 sont des préparations de pigments contenant des solvants à base de résine support (résine aldéhyde) spécialement développée pour les applications de peinture industrielle.
Seuls les pigments organiques et inorganiques durables ont été sélectionnés pour des applications de peinture de haute qualité. Les pâtes sont produites dans des tolérances étroites de teinte et de force de couleur, ce qui permet un chemin de production de peinture très cohérent avec des distributeurs manuels et automatiques. Les solvants et additifs sont soigneusement sélectionnés, par conséquent, un étiquetage dangereux ou des exigences de stockage spéciales associées à leur inflammabilité ne sont pas nécessaires. Hostatint A 100 présente une bonne compatibilité et peut donc être ajouté en quantité habituelle à pratiquement tous les types de systèmes de peinture industriels à base de solvants.
Les colorants Hostatint A 100 ont été mélangés dans un système de cuisson alkyde mélamine à opacité totale, notez que ces colorants peuvent être chargés jusqu’à 25-30% sans aucun effet négatif sur la brillance et l’écoulement.
