PROPERTIES

Isopropanol is a colorless, volatile and flammable liquid that has a slightly sweet smell that is pungent when inhaled more strongly - this is characteristic and is reminiscent of hospitals and medical practices, as isopropanol is a component of many disinfectants. Isopropanol can be mixed homogeneously with water in any ratio and forms a constant boiling mixture. The compound forms azeotropically boiling mixtures with a number of other solvents.
